Lake County Ohio NAACP Executive Committee

The Lake County NAACP was founded on the idea of ensuring equal opportunity & rights for all people, with special emphasis on underserved and oppressed populations.  Since the establishment of the Lake County Ohio Branch of the NAACP in 1958, we have been committed to this mission and have been an essential part of building awareness and bringing about positive changes to our community. 

Our team is made up entirely of volunteers.

Pamela Morse
President

I am Pam Morse, I have been a member of the NAACP since 2016. I started out as a member at large, as the years passed and I learned more about the organization I became an officer. In 2023 I became the President. I am honored to serve the organization and all that it does for our Lake County communities.

Bishop Gerard Mirbel
1st Vice President

I am a Haiti missionary and minister of the Gospel working to improve the well being of the people of Haiti West Indies and the people of the United States of America. I previously served two terms as President of the Lake County Branch NAACP and am currently serving as First Vice President. I am also a Board Member of Western Reserve Community Development and the Lake County Library District.

Chris Lee
2nd Vice President

My name is Rev. Chris Lee, QMHS, MA, TBS. I am an Ordained Minister. I currently Work as a Director of Social Services at a nursing facility. I am the CEO of a non profit organization dealing with youth in Arts and Theatre. My passion is to continue to be an advocate for the Minority population.

Earnestine (Tina) Wilson
Treasurer
Membership Committee Co-Chair

Serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, W.I.N. Member. Advocate for Civil and Human Rights for all people.

I have served my Community, Churches, United Way, PTA, Boy Scouts, Volunteer Lake County Hospital NAACP and YMCA.

Retired 2014 from Lake County Auditors Office as Office Manager/ BOR Secretary, Realtor, Notary and Appraiser.

Rick Beamer
Junior Youth Chair

Along with being the Lake County Ohio NAACP Youth Leader, I am also a Sunday school teacher at Union Pentecost Church in Painesville, Ohio. I believe you can advance your status in life by associating and learning from productive people.

Dyan Denmeade
Health Committee Chair

I was honored to receive the 2021 Dr. William J Rucker Award for Providing Health & Medical Service in Lake County. I have worked with the Lake NAACP to increase access to healthcare and health services for Lake County residents since March 2021, and was appointed to the Executive Committee as the Health Committee Chair in May 2023. I work as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and volunteer at the local Free Health Clinic as a provider. I am an avid gardener with the goal of growing a ten-foot tomato plant, and a pumpkin weighing more than my toddler.

Deacon James Dillard
Membership Chair

James Dillard, NAACP member active for two years, served as an officer under the past presidents in 1982, 1983. Retired human resource administrator from The Lubrizol Corporation, retired school board member, Painesville City Board of Education, charter member of The New Hope Baptist Church, Painesville, Ohio. Presently. Chairman of the Deacon Board in the New Hope Baptist Church..

Karyn Gant
Political Action Chair

My name is Karyn Gant, I am a lifetime resident of Painesville Ohio. I have been serving in the community for many years through church and my nonprofit Ground Zero Elevated. I'm employed with Painesville City Schools and I attend—New Hope Baptist Church in Painesville. I look forward to making an impact with the NAACP.

Commissioner John Hamercheck Economic Development Chair

John serves as an At-Large representative of the NAACP and first became active with the Branch in 2012 through the Begin The Conversation program which John now co-chairs. John has served as a Lake County Commissioner and Madison Village Councilman; additionally, John is an electrical/electronic engineer and state licensed contractor. John is an active member of Lifeline Church in Madison where John serves on the church board of directors. John enjoys spending time with his family spanning four generations as well as serving our community in general.

Earnestine Jones

I am a life member of the NAACP. I have been actively involved for the past 20 plus years. I was in the NAACP afterschool tutoring program at Elm Street school for eight years. I have served as Chair of the Education Committee and Scholarship Committee. I also work as an office volunteer.

Reverend Melvin Motley

I am the pastor of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Painesville. Presently teaching a twelve (12) state bible study each week and currently working for Motley Construction Inc. I enjoy working with people and giving spiritual guidance.

Tamara Smith
w.i.n. Committee Chair

Tamara has a Degree in Psychology. She has worked in Social Services for the past 25 years. She has certifications in High Fidelity Wrap Around Services and Trauma Workings. She is looking to help with healing and hope in Lake County and the surrounding areas.

I am a native of Painesville and attended the local public school system. I graduated from Ohio Dominican College with my Bachelor's degree then received my Medical Doctorate degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. After 32 years as an Obstetrician Gynecologist I retired and returned to Painesville. I am currently on the Painesville City Local School Board and tutor students from elementary to high school. I've been an active member of the Lake County NAACP W.I.N. and Education Committees.

Judith Cunningham
Secretary

I am a Lifetime member of the Lake County Ohio NAACP. I have been involved in Race Unity education, workshops and activities for 40 years. A member of the Baha'i Faith, I am dedicated to working for the unification of our ONE Human Race.
